Overall, a really fun map and a great addition to the game. The two teams get a couple of planes each but they don’t seem to interfere as much as the planes on the other maps. The British get landing crafts, MAS boats and an L Class Destroyer. It is much better than the Gallipoli in the single player campaign. It’s a really fun map, the objectives are spaced out properly and the design is beautiful. I haven’t played this map on Conquest proper yet, but I have played it Conquest Assault and I felt that I should include it. Combine this with Back to Basics (a mode where everyone has a bolt action rifle) and Frontlines and you have a World War 1 simulator. This captures the true Western Front feeling. This is the trench warfare map everybody had been clamouring for and we were not disappointed. The night atheistic adds a lot to the gameplay. When they added the Frontlines gamemode to Amiens it became an instant favourite with me.Ī really great trench map. It really reminded me of the scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan (one of my favourite movies of all time) especially with the C flag on the bridge. The flags are a nice length apart and the map design is beautiful with the white snow and dark brown dirt (it reminds me of chocolate every time I see it, I don’t know why).Īmiens on Conquest was the first game of Battlefield (and a FPS) in my life. The map is very big (it has seven flags!) but it isn’t too spread apart.
The flag locations are very reminiscent of Rupture. Out of the whole Russian DLC, this is my favourite map to play on Conquest (and Operations).
You don’t need to run too far to get to the next objective (I believe they are about 200m apart from each other) and everything is very concentrated and there are tons of great moments on each objective. The way the map is set out is what distinguishes it from the rest of the maps. There can be some epic skirmishes in some of the bottlenecks in the map and those are the kind of moments I love in Battlefield 1. I don’t see many snipers, it is an infantry only map and the flag locations are quite unique. It is a beautifully designed map that has a rocky terrain. It is so fun and balanced and there are actually people playing the objective. Yeah, I know this map just came out but I am addicted to it. Turning Tides has just come out and in honour of its release I will be ranking the best maps in Battlefield 1! Here goes:
